Message from the Director

We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something"
-Mother Theresa-

What makes the Milky Way such a wonderful sight? What makes a desert so daunting and the ocean so strong.....? One star does not make the Milky Way awesome, one piece of sand does not constitute a sand dune and one drop does not make an ocean.... All these wonders are created by the combined effort of an uncountable mass of stars, sand and drops in each of these wonders.... We often feel as though we are only a drop in a very big ocean and forget that the ocean is made up of hundreds and thousands of drops and in their unity exists their strength, beauty and impact .....

Child Welfare Germiston may be a drop in the big ocean of Child and Family Welfare Services in South Africa but we most certainly remain a significant drop and without us there would be something missing......

"Use what talent you possess, the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang the best….."
- Henry Van Dyke –

There are still many roads to travel for our organisation, many mountains to climb and many rivers to swim and whilst Child Welfare Germiston is swimming towards a 110 years of services the challenges for the future remain enormous and sometimes overwhelming - new Children's Legislation, continued staff shortages and continued, growing needs in our community….. I am confident that with the endless efforts of my team we will unite our energies and change adversities into success and make more dreams a reality.

"Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe and enthusiastically act upon…….MUST INEVITABLY COME TO PASS"
